Boyfriend exposed to natural.....

So I thought work was hard
My boyfriend is used to a mother and sister who get perms and straighten their hair on a regular
and he was used for the most part to seeing me in weaves...long straight ones
In fact other than this day he had never seen my real hair
So I was nervous about what he would think
Justin has dated some black girls but he has also dated alot of girls from different ethnic groups
I wandered through feelings of whether he would not to attracted me to anymore
or if he would look else where
We all say looks dont matter, but at the end of the day , it doea. The afro was a style that Justin had already told me was not on his top fav list for hairstyles
So I planned to run this mud run . Happily, I knew my two friends who were running it with me were natural, so I figgered I had my support system ready...lol
But when Justin called to tell me he was there , my heart dropped
I panicked!!!!!
He is going to think I am straight outta africa
What the hell was I thinking? I need a lacefront? I searched for a hat?
But I saw him!!!!
He was looking for me...
I saw him reach for his own to call
I ignored the first 2 calls
but then picked up and lead him in the wrong direction ( for like 5 minutes)
Until I heard a voice behind me "Rose,, u aint right"
It was my friend krystle hahaha
How embrassing?!?!
She had witnessed all my silliness
As we were laughing I directed Justin over.... I couldnt even look him in the face
He was so encouraging though :-)
He laughed at my silliness, he didnt say he loved it or that he didnt, but he supported my journey and that meant the world
He just urged me to stop being weird...lol

First day natural at work :-)

Oh my gosh
I dont think the reality of going natural hits until u gotta to the work lol
I got ready really slow that day and it took me like 15 minutes to walk into work
Would people think I was gay, crazy?
Would pts think I was not professional?
Would I be respected by my peers or look ghetto or upkept?
I felt like people just would judge me by my hair
and the worst thing about all these feelings is that
I actually cared what they thought?
I truly did
I had to be my own cheerleader for a second and say "really,...like.....REALLY Rose"?
Then I walked through the door
Greeted first by some....H..e.y ROSE?!?!?!
Then....whispers...Is that Rose?
But the most common Phrase to my surprise was.... OH my gosh...I love it.!!!!
You never keep your hair the same!!! You so freakin cute!!!!
I was shocked....
I felt liberated and I just blossomed!!!
Then Sierra was working that night so we just had to take a pic together
Of course everyone didnt like it but overall I felt love and thats all the matters :-)

Twist :-)

I hated my twists in pics
I thought they looked too flat but I finally found some pics I liked them in :-)

My natural debut :-)

So I took out my sew in like 2 days before this trip and decided to get used to being natural without everyones input. I was going to be on a missions trip in Honduras for 2 weeks so I thought it would be perfect :-)

I finally Meet Samantha :-)!!! Thanks Christie

I finally got to meet Samantha!!!
Welcome to the natural world girl
I loved talking with her and her fears and convos that friend bring up and stuff
Girl had me laughing but its so encouraing to see welcome going against normacy and trying something new regardless of all the skepticisms people voice.
The way we meet is nothing but God, who would ever think the a convo over a blog would unite two people and something like hair would give them a bond.
Gotta love Gods provisions and technology!!!!

Imago Salon is Awesome :-)

So aftering browsing through Missjessies site, I was surprised their products were sold in the local salon here.
My friend Sierra told me she had been there , so I decided to check them out
I describe my experience as this: A-W-E-S-O-M-E
The people their were so freakin friendly
and when I went to buy some products they offered me samples instead to try them out, not one but three of them bad boys and lastly, they had so many questions and were knowledgable themselves :-)
This was a causacian salon ( not that it matters), but I was shocked
They even used to do natural hair!!!!
I love this place, please show them some love
P.S They sell Carols daughter too :-)
P.SS They sell sample sizes of missjessies ;-)

I made a Promise

Man, this was a fun night out with the girls.
But some where in this night Rhonda and I ended up at the highly overrated event called "Playdate"
While trying not to focus on the money we spent to get in this mess, lol.
We started a more serious convo while playing with Mr. Operation regarding natural hair.
If u know me, u know three things, well 4 things about me
1. I love God
2. I love Pink
3. I love cupcakes
4. and I love me some Weave!!! ha
But at the end of this convo I promised when this weave came out, I am going to step out of my comfort zone and entertain something new
Here, is my journey thus far...

Nostalgia hits ....

So 2 days after having my sew my friend Krystle post these pics from her going away party in May
and I am missing my natural......

So I got a sew in

Haha
So If ya know me, I am like the queen of big hair and I kinda missed it
So, I decided that I was not getting a perm but a couple of tracks would not hurt hahaha
